Throughout their studies our students benefit from a range of guest speaker opportunities that take place during lunchtime dialogues and evening seminars. Regular sessions are arranged both within individual courses and across the whole of Bloomsbury Institute. These events are designed to support students in their studies, enhance their learning experience and help them make the most of their time at Bloomsbury Institute. They offer the chance for students to hear first-hand from external experts working within specialist areas and professional practice and who come to share their insight and experience. They enable students to engage and network with individuals including industry specialists, graduate employers, those who provide internships and placement opportunities as well as representatives from professional, statutory and regulatory bodies (PSRBs). Guest speakers who have expertise in subject areas specifically related to our courses are invited and these include judges, barristers, accountants, tax specialists and those running businesses. Past speakers include Philippa Drew OBE, a human rights activist, Dai Powell OBE (Chief Executive of Hackney Community Transport) and Lord Neuberger, former President of the Supreme Court.
Visiting academics are invited to our annual Teaching and Learning Conference held each summer and our Research Forum which they and our own academics present research on a range of topics to an audience which includes our student body.
