2002
Launched as The London School of Business and Management (LSBM), offering Pearson HND courses in business and computing.
2011
Our higher education courses were approved by the UK government, and we developed a suite of degrees in business, law and accounting.
2014
Launched our innovative two-year undergraduate degrees.
2015
Commended by the Quality Assurance Agency (QAA) for our enhancement of student learning opportunities.
2017
We began the process of applying for Taught Degree Awarding Powers (TDAP), paving the way to awarding our own degrees in the future.
2019
The London School of Business and Management was rebranded as Bloomsbury Institute, a confident step into our future
2020
We were registered on the Office for Students’ Register of Higher Education Providers, after a landmark legal judgment
2020
Our in-house radio station, Bloomsbury Radio, was launched, enhancing communications within the institute and extending our civic engagement with the wider world
2021
Our long-standing agreement with Birkbeck College was renewed, ensuring world class teaching and learning facilities for the next 10 years.
2022
The National Student Survey (NSS) ranked us first in London for our Law Degree, second in London for overall student satisfaction, and third in London for our Business Degree. Our student voice was ranked third in London for student satisfaction
2022
Bloomsbury Law Clinic was launched to provide free legal advice to people who are not eligible for legal aid and cannot afford to pay legal fees.  The Clinic meets this important civic need whilst giving students clinical experience and the opportunity to develop their professional skills

We enhance our academic offering by developing a new range of accredited degrees, which focus strongly on sustainability, justice and inclusion.

Regulation, Quality and Governance
The Quality and Enhancement Manual (QEM) sets out our Quality Assurance Framework. It aims to act as a central source of information on how we do things to provide assurance on the quality of our course delivery. This includes the key policies and procedures which guide and support our approaches to quality assurance.

We are partnered with Wrexham University who award all our degree qualifications. These degrees are internationally recognised qualifications, designed and taught by Bloomsbury Institute lecturers.
Key Partner: Birkbeck College
Many of our lectures, seminars and workshops take place in Birkbeck’s world-class Bloomsbury campus. These buildings are just around the corner from our bases in Bedford Square and Great Portland Street.
