Read what our students past and present have to say about studying at the Bloomsbury Institute.

Joshua Amponsah

BA (Hons) Business Management (2 Year Accelerated)

I was at the University of Venice studying economics but it wasn’t going well… There were 7,000 students and speaking to a lecturer was almost impossible. Here the lecturers give you time.

I didn’t have the support you get here… The Student Engagement, Wellbeing and Success team have been amazing. They’ve helped me with student finance, they’ve been there for me.

Jacqueline Shillingford

LLB (Hons) Law including Foundation Year (4 Year)

I left school at 16 and I always wanted to go back into education.. but life gets in the way.

I’ve always wanted to study law but I’d heard stories – it’s really difficult, you have to do a lot of reading and so on… Then a friend of mine told me about the courses here. I did the foundation year and transferred onto the law degree – and I’m very pleased I did.

I’ve met lots of new people that I would never otherwise have met… international students, people from all over the world.

Gaia Buttitta

BA (Hons) Business Management

I was offered a place at another university but I liked the programme here. It felt more personal and the course was more applied. I felt I would have time to discover myself more and I was right; I’ve had the opportunity to get to know myself better and think about my future.

I came here when I was 17 and I really appreciate the support that the lecturers gave me. They try to get to know you on a personal level so they know how to support you better.

Emeka Okeke

BA (Hons) Business Management (2 Year Accelerated)

I grew up in London but I went back to Nigeria to work when I left school. I was working in a bank but I wanted something different for my life…

I looked at the location – central London, surrounded by great universities. Oxford St just down the road. I was shown round the campus and I liked it… I felt listened to from the first time I stepped through the door.

Doing an accelerated course is fantastic – doing a 3 year course in 2 years is fantastic. There’s not many places that let you do that.

Georgiana Ursachescu

LLB (Hons) Law including Foundation Year (4 Year)

I was a young mother and that was my job. Then I thought what next? I wasn’t able to see my future, and then someone suggested Bloomsbury Institute…

The way they teach us here, they’re drawing out what’s already there… I’ve started to realise my character, my personality, what I can for myself and for others.

There’s no point in studying if you’re not being challenged. The lecturers push you, they take you out of your comfort zone and make you realise what you’re capable of.

Aharon Cohen

BA (Hons) Accounting and Financial Management (3 Year)

I always wanted to be an accountant. The fact that Bloomsbury Institute offer the maximum number of exemptions for both ACCA and CIMA papers made my choice a very simple one.

Orlagh Maye

LLB (Hons) Law including Foundation Year (4 Year)

The staff and students are extremely welcoming and friendly. I love all the extra clubs and societies that I can take advantage of, like reading groups and the Law Society. The facilities here are great. I’m really enjoying student life here at Bloomsbury Institute!

Daniel Meresanu

BA (Hons) Business Management including Foundation Year (4 Year)

Classes are fun! I didn’t complete high school back home and I was really happy that I could get onto a degree course without any formal qualifications, just by passing an English test and an interview. The lecturers are interesting people with a lot of professional experience in business, and my course fees are really good-value compared to friends I know at other universities.

Razi Imam

BA (Hons) Business Management including Foundation Year (4 Year)

I am 21 now, I have worked for a bit, but now want to get a degree to progress my career. I only studied up to GCSE Level and this course has given me an amazing opportunity to get back into education. Our lecturers and tutors are very encouraging and supportive. There are so many extra-curricular activities, lots to do socially and the location is great.

Tunde Meszaros

BA (Hons) Business Management including Foundation Year (4 Year)

I have been in London for some time and have been working for the last couple of years. I wanted to get a degree in Business.

The admissions process was straight-forward, I completed my foundation year, which helped me develop study and research skills, and I’m now in year 2 of the course.

The course is really well structured and there are not a lot of exams, which I like. I spend three days a week in classes and this allows me to work alongside my studies. It’s hard work, but I’m getting good grades!

I also think it’s great that Bloomsbury Institute supports the Living Wage. I am a second-year student and I work a couple of hours a week as a Peer Advisor, earning £10.20 an hour, rather than the £7.50 minimum wage (as I’m over 25). I enjoy my work, and the money really makes a big difference to me.
