Dr Nnamdi Obiosa

Dr Nnamdi Obiosa became the Head of the School of Accounting and Finance in January 2023, having joined Bloomsbury Institute in September 2021 as Deputy Head of the School of Business and Accounting. Prior to joining us, Nnamdi was Subject Cluster Head – Economics, Accounting & Finance at Regent’s University London.

As well as leading our School of Accounting and Finance, Nnamdi is also the Editor of Journal of Management World, a Scopus indexed peer review journal.

Holding an earned doctorate degree in Banking and Finance, Dr Nnamdi is also a CIMA Qualified Chartered Accountant and Chartered Global Management Accountant, a Member in Practice certificate holder, Fellow, Association of International Accountants (FAIA-Acad.) and a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.

A seasoned financial practitioner and senior academic with many years’ experience, Nnamdi’s experience ranges from investment activities to financial markets, financing activities to financial performance reviews. Nnamdi has been at the forefront of re-engineering financial processes and developing financial management capability through superior system functionality and transformational budgeting.

Bringing the knowledge gained in practice to his teaching activities, Nnamdi has successfully managed academic programmes and departments with responsibility for the development of programmes and line managing academic staff. Nnamdi engages in wider professional partnerships with professional colleagues in commerce and industry, which helps him to remain current in the finance and accounting field. Nnamdi has also successfully supervised first degree, master’s degree, and doctoral degree students to completion as well as examined doctoral students.

Interests

Nnamdi’s research and scholarly interest include: Financial Markets, Financial Management, Financial Risk Management, Financial and Management Accounting. Nnamdi also has pedagogic interests in enhancement of students’ learning experience and assessment practices and is a keen sports person interested in football and athletics.
