Amadou Jammeh (AJ) - Bloomsbury Institute London

Amadou joined Bloomsbury Institute in October 2022 as a Senior Lecturer in Business Management. As a result of his hard work and contribution to enhancing the quality of teaching, learning and overall student experience, and in recognition of his senior academic leadership and management experience, he was promoted to the role of Principal Lecturer and Course Leader of undergraduate degree Business courses in May 2023. This is an exciting and challenging role, but one he thoroughly enjoys bringing into play a range of skills and experiences gained from senior academic leadership roles at other UK HE institutions.

Before joining Bloomsbury Institute, Amadou was a Senior Lecturer in Strategy, Degree Study Hub Coordinator, and Course Coordinator of BA Business Administration at the University of Bedfordshire Business School.

He was also a former College Director of the University of Greenwich International College, and a former Director of Studies of Newcastle University London Pathway Programmes.

Interests

Amadou is a keen follower of current affairs, national and international politics, and is especially interested in how international conflicts impacts the socio-economic development of Sub-Saharan Africa. He is currently exploring PhD research opportunities in this area given his passion and interest the socio-economic development of Sub-Saharan where he originally came from.

Amadou is a keen philanthropist and serves in a few voluntary roles as his way of giving back to society. He is a Co-opted School Governor of Ranelagh Primary School London with Lead Governor role for the School’s Development Plan and serves as the Secretary-General of Nusrat High School 1986-91 Batch Foundation, a charitable organisation established by Gambians in the diaspora to support philanthropic projects in Education, Health, and infrastructure in The Gambia.
