Dr. Purna Kumar Loksom is a Dy Course Leader, Senior Lecturer, Senior Fellow of Advance HE (SFHEA), and External Examiner with extensive international academic, research, and leadership experience across the UK and Asia. He currently works at Bloomsbury Institute London, affiliated to Birkbeck, University of London, where he contributes to programmes in Data Analytics, Data Science, Econometrics, Business, Economics, Finance, and Management.
Previously, he served as Senior Lecturer at Coventry University and Wrexham University affiliated institutions, and as Associate Professor and Faculty Board Member at Purbanchal University, Nepal. In addition to academia, Dr. Loksom held the role of Hon. Chief Planning Commissioner for the Koshi Province Government of Nepal, equivalent to state minister level, where he led strategic policy and development planning initiatives. His teaching and research expertise includes development economics, sustainability, digital economy, artificial intelligence, data analytics, research methodology, and applied econometrics, with strong engagement in curriculum innovation, quality assurance, and international research collaboration.
Interests
Dr. Loksom’s academic interests focus on development economics, human development, fiscal policy, sustainability, digital economy, artificial intelligence, econometrics, and data analytics. He is particularly interested in the application of panel data analysis and quantitative research methods to examine economic growth, inequality, education, public finance, and human development within developing economies, especially South Asia. His wider professional interests include curriculum innovation, digital pedagogy, inclusive education, research-led teaching, and the integration of artificial intelligence within higher education and business practice. Beyond academia, he values interdisciplinary collaboration, public policy development, leadership, and mentoring students from diverse international backgrounds.
