Read about Syeda’s experience as an LLB Law & Legal Practice (Accelerated) Student at Bloomsbury Institute London (BIL).

What initially stood out to you about Bloomsbury Institute compared to other universities?
What initially stood out to me was the opportunity to study law in the heart of London while being close to some of the most important legal institutions in the country. The accelerated structure of the programme also appealed to me because it suits students who are motivated and ready for an intensive academic experience. I was particularly interested in the practical and engaging way the course is delivered.
Can you describe a moment or experience during your studies that had a real impact on you?
One experience that had a real impact on me was the opportunity to visit the Inner Temple. Being able to see one of the historic Inns of Court and learn more about the role it plays in the legal profession was truly inspiring. It gave me a deeper appreciation of the traditions and responsibilities associated with the Bar and helped me understand the pathway towards becoming a barrister. Experiences like this make studying law feel much more connected to the real legal profession and have strengthened my motivation to pursue a career in the field.
How have your lecturers or support teams contributed to your academic or personal development?
My lecturers have been very supportive and approachable throughout my studies. They encourage open discussion and critical thinking, which has helped me develop a deeper understanding of legal concepts. Their willingness to guide students and provide feedback has also helped me build confidence in my academic abilities.
In what ways has studying here prepared you for your next step — whether that’s employment, promotion, or further study?
Studying here has helped me develop both the academic knowledge and the practical skills needed for a career in law. The structure of the course, which includes lectures, seminars and workshops, allows us not only to learn legal principles but also to apply them in practical scenarios. This has improved my legal reasoning, research and communication skills. Being based in London also provides exposure to the professional legal environment and opportunities to visit institutions such as the Supreme Court and the Inns of Court, which helps students understand how the law operates in practice and prepares us for future career opportunities.
How would you describe the student community and learning environment?
The learning environment is diverse, inclusive, and collaborative. Classes bring together students from many different backgrounds, which makes discussions more engaging and insightful. The seminars and workshops create a supportive space where students can actively participate, exchange ideas, and learn from one another.
If you had to sum up your experience in one sentence for a prospective student, what would you say?
Studying at Bloomsbury Institute has been an engaging and rewarding experience that combines academic challenge, practical exposure, and a supportive learning community.
Would you recommend Bloomsbury Institute to others? If so, why?
Yes, I would recommend Bloomsbury Institute because it offers a supportive academic environment, engaging teaching methods, and valuable opportunities to connect classroom learning with the real legal world in London.
I wouldn’t be where I am today if it wasn’t for Access. Not only did I receive an incredible amount of support from the lecturers, I met an excellent group of people – some of whom I would call my closest friends.
