Read about Simran’s experience as an LLB Law & Legal Practice (Accelerated) Student at Bloomsbury Institute London (BIL).

What initially stood out to you about Bloomsbury Institute compared to other universities?
Seeing the Instagram page of Bloomsbury Institute, the sense of community stood out to me the most. I felt that there was a great deal of support available for all students, and this was further proven to me by Andrea in admissions. After completing the required admission tests, there were still some documents missing on my end. Andrea continuously encouraged and motivated me to contact the institution, and just one hour before the deadline, she managed to submit my application. Going through this process truly sealed the deal for me, as it confirmed my belief that the sense of community and support here is unmatched by anything else.
Can you describe a moment or experience during your studies that had a real impact on you?
Visiting Inner Temple opened up my imagination and gave me the confidence to start booking tours at the other Inns myself to explore which one I would like to join as a member. Before this experience, I had never attended a tour due to a lack of knowledge and confidence. The tour was incredibly informative, welcoming, and inspiring, and it encouraged me to step outside of my comfort zone and explore other places as well.
How have your lecturers or support teams contributed to your academic or personal development?
The lecturers have been incredibly supportive throughout my studies, from providing detailed feedback to taking the time to stay on a topic until everyone fully understands it. I have particularly enjoyed Helen’s and Kirsty’s classes, as both lecturers create an engaging and supportive learning environment. After attending Kirsty’s classes, I genuinely believe my assignment marks improved significantly because of how clearly and simply she explained complex topics. Her teaching style made difficult concepts much easier to understand and apply in my work.
I would also especially like to mention Nadia from the SEWS team, who has been a huge source of support for me. Following a personal injury in December, I missed many classes and reached a point where I felt overwhelmed and considered restarting the year altogether. However, Nadia continuously encouraged and motivated me not to give up. She was honest that the journey would be challenging, but she reassured me that perseverance would be worth it. Thanks to her support and guidance, I managed to successfully complete two semesters without delaying my graduation. Her encouragement during such a difficult period made a significant difference to both my academic journey and my confidence in myself. The level of support I have received from both the lecturers and student support staff has truly shown me how much the institution cares about its students and their success.
In what ways has studying here prepared you for your next step — whether that’s employment, promotion, or further study?
I am planning to pursue a Master’s degree alongside the Bar Practice Course next, and studying here has made that decision much easier for me. After attending the informative CILEX sessions hosted by Kirsty, where she explained the different legal routes available and how we can use our degree alongside those pathways, I gained a much clearer understanding of the opportunities within the legal profession. The sessions delivered by the faculty from Barbri also gave valuable insight into future career options and qualification routes. Together, these experiences helped me make a confident decision about my next steps within my very first year of study. They provided both clarity and motivation for the path I now plan to pursue.
How would you describe the student community and learning environment?
The student community and learning environment feel incredibly welcoming and supportive. It genuinely feels like a space where people from all communities, cultures, and walks of life come together with the shared goal of learning and improving themselves. There is no sense of judgement — everyone is encouraged to ask questions, make mistakes, learn from them, and grow with confidence. What I particularly appreciate is how approachable both the students and lecturers are.
The environment feels comfortable and motivating, which makes it much easier to participate in discussions and engage with learning without feeling intimidated. Everyone understands that each person is on their own journey, and there is a strong sense of mutual respect and encouragement throughout the community. The diversity within the student body also adds so much value to the experience, as you get to hear different perspectives and connect with people you may never have met otherwise. Overall, it feels less like a competitive environment and more like a supportive community where people genuinely want to see each other succeed
If you had to sum up your experience in one sentence for a prospective student, what would you say?
For any prospective student, I would say that this is a place where you are genuinely supported, encouraged to grow, and given the confidence to pursue goals you may once have been too afraid to chase.
Would you recommend Bloomsbury Institute to others? If so, why?
Absolutely — and I already have. The faculty, campus, support team, and overall guidance you receive towards your academic achievements go far beyond just academics. This place genuinely helps you become the best version of yourself by giving attention, encouragement, and support to each individual student. The environment is welcoming, motivating, and focused not only on your education, but also on your personal growth and confidence.
Bloomsbury Institute is a place where you are encouraged, supported, and empowered to achieve your goals — a true home away from home.
