Donna Leonard

With over 18 years’ teaching experience (working in Spain, Argentina and the UK), Donna trained teachers of English, as well as working for the British Council as an IELTS examiner. These roles gave her the opportunity to meet people of all ages from a wide variety of backgrounds and cultures. She has taught both inside the classroom and in-company; aiding IT consultants, lawyers, bankers, and accountants.

Her career has also allowed her to deliver teacher development sessions and work on course design; creating curriculums and online material. She has been with the Bloomsbury Institute since 2018, working across three Foundation Year modules, while leading on two: Study & Research Skills and Professional Skills. In her current role, she offers study support to students in order to help them reach their potential.

Interests

Donna is interested in how people learn, and the ways in which we can use this information to aid study and develop strategies for overcoming obstacles. She is also keen to explore ways of redeveloping learning frameworks so that the discrete capabilities possessed by individuals can be realised and cultivated.
