Marcus is Bloomsbury Institute’s Head of the School of Business and Management.
He began his career as a recruitment practitioner in the UK and Switzerland and subsequently started up an interim management agency based in London, where he built, over more than a decade, a portfolio of clients across the UK and Europe. He transitioned to academia in 2011, was awarded a PhD in Organisational Change in 2015 and held teaching roles at Oxford Brookes University and London Metropolitan University before joining Bloomsbury Institute in 2022.
Outside Bloomsbury Institute, Marcus is an Enterprise Adviser for the Education Development Trust, supporting school leadership teams with their careers programmes. He has strong links with the Chartered Management Institute (CMI), the Chartered Institute of Personnel Development (CIPD) and the British Academy of Management (BAM).
Interests
Marcus enjoys spending time with his wife and two sons, and sport, attending games at Harlequins RFC and at Brentford FC. He is a keen cyclist and a qualified cycling instructor and has participated in many sportives, triathlons and ironman events. He is a committee member at West London Gators (a youth basketball club) and a trustee of the Coach Ali Foundation (a registered charity widening access to sport to children and young people from all backgrounds).
