Covid-19 Support Fund is back!

Earlier this year, we launched the Covid-19 Support Fund to give financial support to students who have been negatively affected by Covid-19.
The Fund helped many of you and we are now happy to announce that we have re-opened the Covid-19 Support Fund for all our students.
If you have experienced a significant reduction in income, have lost your job or are facing any extra costs due Covid-19 and government restrictions since 1 April 2021, you can apply for financial support.
Am I eligible?
The Covid-19 Support Fund is open to all registered Bloomsbury Institute students.
You’ll just need to meet two criteria to be eligible:
- Be an enrolled student
- Your finances have been negatively impacted by Covid-19 since 1 April 2021. This could be anything from losing your job or a reduction in your income through to facing extra costs, for example, an increase in your household bills or childcare costs.
This list is not exhaustive, so please apply if your situation and circumstances are not included in the list.
The Support Fund is intended to support unexpected costs as a result of the pandemic. However, we understand just how unpredictable life is right now and if you are facing circumstances which fall outside of these criteria, you can still apply by explaining your situation.
How do I apply?
To apply, simply raise one SSP request to ‘COVID-19 Support Fund’.
The closing date for receiving applications including supporting evidence is 3pm on Friday 16 July 2021. Applications will cannot be processed after this time.
Please make sure all fields are filled out correctly, you have attached all supporting documents which confirm your circumstances and you have given a detailed description of your circumstances. These should be attached to your original SSP request.
Supporting documents should be uploaded in PDF format but can also be uploaded as screenshots or clear photographs.
Please do make sure all evidence is attached to confirm your circumstances and the description given. We are unable to process your application without these.
What evidence should I include?
Example evidence can include:
- Invoices/ receipt
- Increased utility bills
- Payment confirmation of Covid-19 tests
- Payslips or invoices (if self-employed) with letters confirming reduced pay/income
- Most recent P45
- Bank statements for all accounts held
This list may not cover all examples and we understand that you may need to attach different kinds of evidence.
Once we have received your application, we will respond via SSP with the outcome within 5-7 working days. This may take longer if any evidence is missing.
If your application is successful, the funds will usually be in your account on the Thursday after you receive the confirmation via SSP.
