January activities at the Student Guild

The Student Guild and societies have an exciting month of activities planned to kick-start the new year.

The events are based around the theme of Brexit and are open to all students from all levels.

If you’re clued up on Brexit, or you’d like to learn more about Britain leaving Europe and what it means for students, take a look at the society debates and film night.

Law Society Meet-up and Debate

Monday 11 January, 5 – 6pm

Catch up with your fellow Law students after the Christmas break and discuss what Brexit means for us as students.

Test your Brexit knowledge over a Kahoot quiz which will also include questions on the English Legal System module. Take part to win an Amazon Voucher!

Accounting & Business Society Meetup and Debate

Thursday 14 January, 5 – 6pm

The Accounting and Business societies are also getting together to debate Brexit and the impact it will have on Accounting and Business students.

Take part in their Brexit themed Kahoot quiz with bonus questions on business and financial standards. There are Amazon Vouchers to be won.

Netflix Party

Thursday 21 January 2021, 6:30pm.

The nominated film for this month is Brexit: The Uncivil War. The film is a drama based on real events that took place during the Brexit referendum.

Equality Society Debate

Thursday 28 January, 5pm-6pm

At the end of the month, the Equality Society are hosting their Brexit debate, this time taking a look at its effect on wellbeing.
