CILEx

We are one of a handful of providers in England and Wales to have been granted Institutional Exemptions for Chartered Institute of Legal Executives (CILEx) qualifications.

Our graduates who complete required modules in their final year will be exempt from two CILEx qualifications: the CILEx Level 6 Diploma in Law and Practice; and the CILEx Graduate Fast Track Diploma.

Students who complete our Civil Litigation and Client Care module, plus one of four other practice-based modules, are eligible for admission as a Graduate Member of CILEx. This opportunity will save our graduates one year of additional study. With CILEx Graduate Member status, our students will also be able to use the designatory letters GCILEx.

Graduates with CILEx Graduate Member status could immediately work in a law firm in roles such as a Trainee CILEx Lawyer, Paralegal or Legal Clerk. After completing three years of qualifying employment in a law firm, they will be admitted as a Fellow of CILEx and a Chartered Legal Executive. Fellows can represent clients in court if they qualify as a Chartered Legal Executive Advocate. They can also dual qualify as a Solicitor, without having to complete a two-year training contract.

If you want to qualify as a solicitor, then as a Chartered Legal Executive you can claim automatic exemption from the need to have a training contract, after completing the Legal Practice Course (LPC).

This accreditation from CILEx is just one more of the ways we are enhancing our law students’ learning opportunities and their graduate employment prospects.
