My name is Shukurat Balogun. I am an experienced admissions and learner engagement professional with over five years of expertise in UK higher education, student recruitment, and stakeholder management. I have a strong background in supporting students throughout the admissions process, managing recruitment pipelines, and ensuring full compliance with institutional and regulatory standards.

My previous roles in regional learner engagement and university admissions have strengthened my ability to support diverse applicant needs and contribute to organizational growth through targeted outreach and data-informed decision making. Throughout my career, I have held a range of impactful roles. Most recently, I served as a Regional Learner Engagement Officer at W1se Angels, where I led a regional team, built strategic partnerships with employers and community organizations, and drove learner recruitment for AEB and Skills Bootcamp programs. Before that, I worked as a Recruitment and Admissions Officer, overseeing daily admissions operations, managing lead acquisition and retention teams, and supporting students across the UK and internationally. Earlier in my career, I served as an Admissions and Administrative Officer, where I managed admissions, compliance, and quality assurance processes for an education consultancy firm in the UK. I bring a client centered approach and a strong commitment to widening participation.

Interests

My professional interests within the higher education sector focus on promoting accessible education and breaking down barriers to support student success across all backgrounds. I am also keenly interested in artificial intelligence compliance and look forward to developing my expertise in this area in the near future, particularly exploring how it can be effectively integrated within higher education sector. Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my family, travelling, and making a positive impact in my own way.
