I have worked in Higher Education for over 20 years. In my role as Director of Bloomsbury Institute’s Centre for Student Engagement, Wellbeing and Success, I lead a team of Student Success Champions and Disability and Wellbeing Advisors who provide pastoral support and guidance to our students. We offer various student support activities and services which include monitoring of student engagement and intervention, disability and wellbeing, employability and peer learning. Prior to this, I managed transition, retention and success projects and introduced Peer Learning Schemes across academic departments at SOAS University of London and at the University of East London.
I worked in Singapore for two years where I developed and managed career service provision for postgraduate students at the National University of Singapore. I also managed the Student Mentoring Programme at the London School of Economics and Political Science and re-modelled the LSE Staff Induction Programme receiving an LSE award for Outstanding Contribution to Learning and Development.
I am passionate about coaching, mentoring and peer learning in relation to student support and I present at and attend conferences and networking events on these topic areas.
In 2021, I was appointed to the Executive Board of the European Mentoring and Coaching Council UK (EMCC UK), in a voluntary capacity, as the Director of Professional Development. I have recently received a global accreditation as a Coach and Mentoring Professional at Senior Practitioner Level.
I have also volunteered for projects in my local community which support the elderly. I like to look after my vulnerable neighbors. I am a keen football fan and try to attend women’s and men’s games when I can. I love to keep fit and go on long country walks.
