Bloomsbury Institute London ranked 1st in London for wellbeing support communication, NSS 2026

Bloomsbury Institute London’s Business & Management students have rated the Institute 1st in London for how well we communicate wellbeing support services, in the 2026 National Student Survey (NSS) results published this week.

The NSS is the UK’s national survey of final year undergraduates, asking students to rate their course on areas including teaching quality, academic support, student voice and wellbeing. It is widely used by prospective students and parents as an independent measure of the student experience. Rankings referenced in this article compare Bloomsbury Institute London against other universities and higher education institutions, excluding colleges and specialist providers.

Business & Management also ranked 4th in London overall (averaging all questions) and 2nd in London for how well the Students’ Guild represents students’ academic interests.

Law students also gave the Institute a strong endorsement for academic representation, ranking Bloomsbury Institute London 3rd in London for how well the Students’ Guild represents students’ academic interests, one of the strongest results in this year’s survey. Law also ranked 7th in London overall (averaging all questions).

Principal Joan O’Mahony said: “Our NSS results are a real source of pride for everyone at Bloomsbury Institute London. I am delighted that in so many areas of teaching and learning we outperform expectations against our nationally set benchmarks. Ranking first in London for how well we communicate wellbeing support reflects years of investment in genuinely knowing and supporting our students, not just teaching them. I want to thank our students for their honesty, and our staff for the care they bring to this work every day.”

Sunmi Ayorinde, Acting Chief Operations Officer, said: “What stands out to me is that these results sit alongside strong scores for student representation too, students telling us both that they feel heard and that they feel supported. That combination doesn’t happen by accident. We’ll keep using this feedback, together with our Students’ Guild, to keep improving the experience for every student here.”

Bloomsbury Institute London works in partnership with Birkbeck, University of London, which validates its courses.

I wouldn’t be where I am today if it wasn’t for Access. Not only did I receive an incredible amount of support from the lecturers, I met an excellent group of people – some of whom I would call my closest friends.
