I am pleased to see that the commitment, dedication and diligence of staff and the Guild has been reflected in our NSS results. We continue to focus our efforts on building the Bloomsbury community, where barriers to education are broken down, educational aspirations are achieved and staff work alongside students to create an atmosphere where all individuals can thrive.

We also performed exceptionally well in Q25 and Q26, which assess how well the students’ union represents academic interests and how effectively mental wellbeing support information is communicated:

  • In Business, we rank 2nd in England and London for both questions.
  • In Law, we are ranked 1st in England and London for Q25 and 2nd for Q26.
  • In Accounting, we rank 1st in England and London for Q26 and 11th in London for Q25.

One of the most notable year-on-year improvements is in Freedom of Expression, where we rose from 19th in 2024 to 5th in 2025, demonstrating the inclusive and respectful learning environment we foster.

These results are a shared achievement between our students, academic and professional staff, and our Student Guild. The strong collaboration and commitment across the Institute ensure that the student experience remains at the heart of everything we do.

We’re proud to be top in London for a Students’ Union for representing the academic interests of students. We have worked hard with Bloomsbury to support the student voice and continually improve the student experience.

The NSS, run annually by the Office for Students, surveys final-year undergraduate students across the UK. This year’s results are particularly notable given recent changes to the survey, including the removal of the “overall satisfaction” question and a renewed focus on topics such as academic representation, wellbeing, and student voice.

As WonkHE highlights, personal characteristics — such as having a disability or mental health condition — can significantly shape the student experience, especially around perceptions of wellbeing communication. Bloomsbury Institute’s 1st place ranking in London for communicating mental wellbeing support underscores the meaningful steps we have taken to address this nationally recognised challenge.

We thank all our students for sharing their views and helping us continue to grow stronger together.
