Lecturer: Business

As a Lecturer on the Foundation Year programme, I teach all four modules on offer and enjoy guiding many of our students through this important year on their academic journey.

I am also an Introduction to Business module leader, a role which I relish as it involves designing engaging materials and activities for seminars and workshops, lecturing, and  working closely with a team of lecturers to ensure the best learning outcomes for the students.

Before joining Bloomsbury Institute, I worked at other UK higher education institutions including University of Reading, University of Birmingham, University of Hull and Harper Adams University. I taught English for Academic Purposes, most often through the medium of Business, to BSc, MSc, MBA or PhD level students from a wide variety of countries, supporting them to achieve highly in the UK higher education context.

I am strong believer in lifelong learning and I am excited to be part of an institution that encourages access to higher education for students from a diversity of backgrounds. I love to facilitate student interaction and active learning in the micro-universe of our classes. In fact, finding ways to balance contributions from quieter and more assertive students has become an interest recently.

Other areas of interest are technology-enhanced learning and the design of lessons and materials which enhance students’ critical thinking, independent discussion and reflection skills.
