Career Development

UK Quality Code

Within this section, staff and students should refer to the following Expectation from the UK Quality Code. For additional guidance, reference should be made to the relevant Indicators within the stated Chapter of the UK Quality Code.

Expectation (Chapter B4)

‘Higher education providers have in place, monitor and evaluate arrangements and resources which enable students to develop their academic, personal and professional potential’.

We ensure that our students are aware of opportunities available to them through our employability and career development service. Our Employability Co-ordinator is responsible for this service.

Our students’ future careers are one of the main motivations for undertaking a course, and career development is therefore a key strategic priority. Career development requires a mix of employability building blocks, namely understanding, self-awareness, personal development planning, and the development of skills of self-presentation, not only of academic achievements but also extra-curricular activity including work experience.
