St Patrick’s Day

London’s St Patrick’s Day Festivities occur from 10 am on Sunday 12 March. The day will begin with a march from Hyde Park Corner and through Central London culminating with the St Patrick’s Day Festival on Trafalgar Square.

What is St Patrick’s Day all about?

  • St Patrick is the patron saint of Ireland 
  • Though born in Britain, St Patrick is credited with bringing Christianity to Ireland during the 5th Century
  • St Patrick’s Day, or the Feast of St Patrick, traditionally takes place on 17 March but will be marked on the Sunday before in London
  • The day is a celebration of Irish culture and the relationship between Britain and Ireland.
